Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 May 2026

Airdd ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through airdd.au, how we use it, and your rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the shop and serve our customers:

  • Order information — name, email, phone number, shipping and billing address when you place an order.
  • Newsletter signups — your email address and (optionally) first name when you subscribe.
  • Contact form submissions — name, email, phone number, and the message you send us.
  • Warranty registrations — email, name, store you purchased from, order/invoice number, and purchase date.
  • Page views (anonymous) — pages visited, referrer, device type, country derived from IP. We do not store full IP addresses.
  • Cookies — see section 4.

We do not collect government identifiers, health data, or precise geolocation. Payment card details are entered directly with Stripe and are never stored on our servers.

2. How we use it

  • Fulfil and deliver your orders
  • Send order updates and (with your consent) marketing emails you can unsubscribe from at any time
  • Verify and honour your warranty
  • Respond to your enquiries
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and spam
  • Improve the site and our products
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

3. Who we share it with

We share data only with the trusted partners we need to run the shop:

  • Our payment processor — to handle your card payment securely
  • Our email provider — to send you order updates, newsletters, and warranty correspondence
  • Our hosting and security provider — to keep the site online and protected from abuse
  • Australian shipping carriers — to deliver your parcel
  • Law enforcement and regulators — only when legally compelled (e.g., subpoena, court order)

Each provider is bound by contract to use the data only for the services we engage them to provide.

4. Cookies

airdd.au uses a small number of first-party cookies, all essential to the site:

  • Cart cookie — keeps your shopping cart between page loads.
  • Admin session cookie — only set if you are signed in to our internal admin panel; not used for visitors.
  • Cloudflare security cookie — set transiently when our security system detects suspicious activity, used solely to verify requests come from a real browser.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

5. Your rights under Australian Privacy Principles

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct it if inaccurate or out of date
  • Ask us to delete it (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time (every email has an unsubscribe link)
  • Make a complaint about how we handle your information

To exercise any right, email hello@airdd.au. We will verify your identity using the email address on file and respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

6. Data retention

  • Order records — retained for 7 years to comply with Australian tax and consumer-law requirements.
  • Warranty registrations — retained for the duration of the warranty plus 3 years.
  • Newsletter subscriptions — retained until you unsubscribe.
  • Contact messages — retained for 2 years for support reference, then archived or deleted.
  • Page-view logs — typically retained for 30 days, then aggregated.

7. Security and breach notification

All traffic to airdd.au is encrypted in transit (TLS). Personal information is stored on encrypted databases with access limited to authorised personnel. No system is perfectly secure — if a breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the OAIC in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988.

8. Children's privacy

airdd.au is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International data transfers

Our infrastructure spans multiple countries. By using airdd.au you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in Australia, the United States, and other locations where our service providers operate. Where required by APP 8, we take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle your data consistent with the APPs.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage or sent by email to active subscribers.
